Man rescued from Douglas Marina

A man had to be rescued from Douglas Marina after falling while boarding a yacht.

Douglas Coastguard was called out on Friday evening along with the emergency services after the man fell and found himself unable to get back out.

Two members of the Coastguard team got in the water to help keep him afloat while the fire service lowered a basket stretcher down into the Marina.

Fire crews used their hydraulic platform to lift him back to dry land before he was transferred to a waiting ambulance and taken to hospital.
