Over half of police retirements due to injury, illness

More than half of the police officers that have retired in the last three years have done so because of ill health.

The Isle of Man Constabulary confirmed 21 of the 35 officers that have retired since 2014 have done so because of health requirements.

11 of those 21 retirements have been because of illness or injury at work.

The figures were revealed in a Freedom of Information request.
