Police issue banking security advice

The Island's police are urging the public to be vigilant when receiving calls or emails that claim to be from their bank.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has been highlighting a series of things banks will never ask from their customers in a bid to prevent members of the public becoming victims of fraud.

It follows a warning from the police last week that a scam message claiming to be from a bank was circulating on the Island.

The police are reminding local residents that banks will never ask for PIN numbers, ask you to email your banking information to them or as you to carry out a test transaction online.

Officers are also warning against following links which ask for online banking details and using banking apps other than the bank's official one.
