Women reveal abortion stories in CALM video

A campaign group calling for the Island's abortion laws to be updated have released a video featuring stories from women who've traveled off Island for terminations.

The Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation hopes the film will highlight the difficulties Manx women currently face when seeking an abortion.

The video, which has been shared on YouTube, uses footwear to show how many women travel to the UK each year.

There are strict rules preventing most women obtaining an abortion on the Island, with most women seeking a termination having to travel to the UK for a private procedure.

Feedback is currently being sought on plans to change Manx abortion laws, allowing more women to have procedures locally.
