The Department of Education and Children isn't planning to get rid of any of the three disused school buildings it currently owns in the next year.
Ballacloan Infants School, Fairfield Junior School and Bride School have all closed in recent years, leaving the buildings empty.
In a Freedom of Information request, the Department revealed none of its building are marked for disposal over the next 12 months, despite Ballacloan and Fairfield no longer being suitable for education.
Fairfield will be used though, as the Department will shortly be entering into a lease with the Salvation Army, who intend to use the building while their new citadel is built.
The Government's strategic asset management unit is considering the future of Ballacloan, while the Department is still deciding the future of Bride.
