Fire crews rescue person from plantation lake

Fire crews were called out to help a person in difficulty at one of the Island's plantations.

The water rescue team was dispatched at around 4.15pm yesterday following reports of a person in trouble in a lake.

Officers were able to help the person and provide immediate medical care before paramedics reached the scene.

The crews then transported the casualty around a kilometre out of the plantation to a waiting ambulance.
