The Government is seeking feedback from the public on plans to merge a number of registries.
The Department of Economic Development plans to create a Central Registry, made up of the General Registry, Civil Registries, Companies Registry, Charity Register, Public Record Office and the Land, Deeds and Probate section.
The structure for a Central Registry has been in place since April 2015, the a new Bill proposes formally transferring the function from the Chief Registrar to the DED.
The public consultation will be open until September 15th. Full details of the proposals can be found on the Government's website.
