Permission sought to install telecoms antennas on pub

Planning permission is being sought to add telecoms equipment to the chimney of a pub in Ramsey.

Manx Telecom wants to replace the chimney on the Royal George in Market Place, adding two antennas.

The application says the installation is to replace equipment to provide 3G and 4G coverage that had previously been installed on the roof of Nightlife.

The telecoms provider revealed it urgently needs to find an alternative site for the equipment as a change of owner at the previous site means the antennas can no longer be housed there.
