Local businesses to be asked for pay details

Wed, 02 Aug 2017

Over 500 local businesses will be asked to take part in this year's Earnings Survey.

Companies who employee people on the Island are asked to provide a sample of their workers' earnings so the Government can judge salary trends.

Details to be analysed include gender, age, occupation and industry.

The Cabinet Office will collect over 1500 samples, with the identities of the employers and employees both kept strictly confidential.

Businesses asked to take part are legally required to do so, and could be prosecuted if they don't provide the requested data.

Last year's results showed full-time pay had increased by around 2.2%.
