Study shows Island lacks non-serviced accommodation

Thu, 27 Jul 2017

The Department of Economic Development says the Island doesn't have enough non-serviced accommodation.

The Department commissioned research to determine whether facilities such as holiday parks, self-catered cottages and campsites are needed on the Island.

The findings revealed there are potential markets from the UK and Ireland, but that there isn't currently enough accommodation to attract them.

The research claims adding high quality and distinctive accommodation would encourage more tourists to come to the Isle of Man.

The Department now plans to work with the private sector to find ways to grow the Island's visitor accommodation.
