A report into river fishing on the Island says stocks of trout and salmon are positive.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has particularly been working to improve salmon numbers after floods in 2015 hindered breeding.
The report claims most of the rivers on the Island support healthy brown trout populations, as well as soon migratory sea trout.
Although the number of salmon hatching last year was down, DEFA found there were high number of young salmon this year.
The river angling season runs until the end of September for brown trout and the end of October for salmon and sea trout.
