TT rider quits road racing due to risks involved

A rider who has been racing at the TT since 2009 says he's quitting road racing due to the risks involved.

Steve Mercer revealed a crash at this year's TT has made him reassess his racing career, and he now wants to focus on short circuits and Enduro.

The 35-year-old admits he's found it harder mentally to go flat out down Bray Hill since having children, describing the sport as dangerous and selfish.

Mercer secured three top 10 finishes during his TT career.
