Bushy's Brewery devastated after losing beer tent bid to Hooded Ram

Bushy's Brewery says its devastated after learning it has lost its bid to run the beer tent in the Bottleneck Car Park next year.

The brewery confirmed that Douglas Borough Council has selected a different operator to run the site from 2018 following a tender process.

The local authority revealed Hooded Ram has been awarded a five-year contract to operate at the site from 2018 to 2022.

Hooded Ram, which is based in Douglas, has promised to include a diverse entertainment programme including live music, a Battle of the Bands competition, street food and support for local charities.

Bushy's admits it's disappointed to be making the announcement, and that it's devastated and extremely sad to leave what the company calls its rightful home.

However, Bushy's insists preparations have already begun to ensure the brewery is at the heart of TT entertainment next year, although it can't say where yet.
