Health Minister to provide efficiency update

The Health Minister says her Department is working to improve efficiency and provide value for money.

Kate Beecroft will present a report showing the Department of Health and Social Care's progress on it's financial performance at this month's sitting of Tynwald.

Tynwald asked for the report after agreeing a supplementary budget of £11.1m for the DHSC earlier this year.

Mrs Beecroft insists it's not an exercise in cost cutting, but that strategic changes are needed to ensure service are sustainable.

It's hoped improving efficiency at Noble's Hospital will save £8.4m, with £5.4m already identified.
