After more than half a century, Castletown Fire Station has closed its doors as the service moves in to new purpose built premises near the Airport.
The new site is a joint Fire and Ambulance Station and has been built at a cost of around £1million.
Fire and Ambulance staff moved in to the building yesterday and said that it will play a huge part in enhancing the working relations between the two emergency services.
The existing site will be sold by the Department of Home Affairs.
