The Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister insists the Island's building regulations are ahead of the UK's.
Geoffrey Boot insists the current regulations, which have been in force since 2014, are constantly under review, and give the Island higher standards than those in the UK.
The Minister believes continually reviewing the current rules and those brought in elsewhere is more important than conducting an annual review.
Mr Boot admitted the recent fire at Grenfell Tower in London highlighted the need to ensure regulations are up to date and enforced.
