DED can't offer financial support to businesses during regeneration

The Economic Development Minister admits his Department isn't able to offer financial help to businesses during regeneration schemes.

Laurence Skelly was asked about the support the DED can offer during regeneration projects in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.

Mr Skelly confirmed businesses can't be offered funds directly as the Department doesn't have the funding.

However, the Minister insists his Department provides non-financial support and tries to work with businesses, as well as grants to improve the appearance of their property or improve energy efficiency.
