OFT issues Hotpoint advice following Grenfell Tower fire

The Island's Office of Fair Trading says there's no specific reason for those with Hotpoint fridge freezers to turn off their appliances.

An investigation into the Grenfell Tower fire in London has found a Hotpoint fridge freezer to be the cause of the deadly blaze.

An examination of the appliance has been ordered to establish the exact cause of the fire, but so far there hasn't been a product recall.

The OFT says testing will determine whether any further action is needed.

Those who have the affected model, a FF175BP or FF175BG, can register for updates on the Hotpoint service website.
