Abandoned tent, litter found at plantation

The police have had to remove a large quantity of rubbish and an abandoned tent from one of the Island's reservoirs.

The items were left in the woodland at Ballure reservoir, despite signs in the area stating camping isn't allowed.

The Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team described the scene as an eyesore in an area of natural beauty, adding that those responsible should be ashamed of themselves.

Officers were on the scene yesterday afternoon, and have cleared the area.
