The Steam Packet Company has cancelled this evening's 7.45pm sailing to Heysham and the return crossing overnight due to weather conditions.
The ferry operator isn't able to offer alternative sailings to affected passengers due to a heavy level of bookings in the next few days.
Those booked to travel on the cancelled sailings will be given priority standby status, but the Steam Packet can't arrange an extra sailing until Thursday evening.
Department of Infrastructure officials will be at the Sea Terminal to help those affected by the cancelled sailings, while the Steam Packet's reservations team can be contacted on 01624 661661.
Winds gusting in excess of 50 knots are expected this evening, while earlier sailings had to be diverted to Birkenhead due to the conditions at Heysham.
