The MHK responsible for motorsport on the Island insists the public is concerned about unauthorised use of the TT brand.
Rob Callister told this week's sitting of the House of Keys that the Department of Economic Development have received tip-offs about those using the TT name without permission from residents concerned about the way the name is being used.
Mr Callister also revealed the DED is seeking to trademark the TT name in Brazil, in addition to trademarks held on the Island, in the UK and in Europe.
Licensing the use of the TT brand brings in an overall income of around £2.6m for the DED.
