Passengers spent almost eight hours on the Ben-my-Chree following technical issues for the vessel.
The Steam Packet Company had to carry out repairs to the ferry at sea after it encountered problems on its way to Douglas yesterday.
The Ben was eventually able to dock in Douglas at around 10pm, over four hours after it had been due to arrive from Heysham.
As a result, the return sailing was delayed, while tidal conditions affected the overnight crossing, which didn't arrive in Douglas until around 8.45 this morning.
