The Government is beginning a tender process to find a new operator for the Island's meat plant.
The facility in Tromode is currently run by Isle of Man Meats, requiring an annual Government subvention of over £1.3m.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture hopes bringing in a private operator will make the plant more competitive and save public money.
According the DEFA, seven parties have already expressed an interest and spoken to the Department.
Once formal tenders have been submitted, it's hoped a new operator will be in place by the end of the year.
