The Island's dog owners are being reminded to clean up after their pets while out walking.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is currently considering whether DNA testing can be brought in to trace the owners who don't pick up dog mess.
The House of Keys is also progressing a new law that would make microchipping dogs compulsory.
DEFA warns it remains illegal not to pick up dog mess, and that bags used to pick up such mess should be disposed of properly.
The Department confirmed it has received mixed feedback from the Island's local authorities over DNA testing.
