Shared list for housing being considered in the east

Local authorities in the east of the Island are considering introducing a shared waiting list for housing.

The aims of the single list would be to give applicants a wider range of public sector housing across a greater area.

Braddan Commissioners, Garff Commissioners and the Department of Infrastructure are contacting those on existing waiting lists to explain the proposal.

Onchan District Commissioners chose not to take part in the proposed scheme, but will monitor developments.

Similar schemes are already operated in the south and north of the Island.
