Health Minister admits complaints outweigh compliments for new patient transfer provider

Wed, 03 May 2017

The Island's Health Minister says there have been more complaints than compliments about the new patient transfer taxi service.

Kate Beecroft told this week's sitting of the House of Keys that feedback is logged daily, including those posted on social media.

The Minister is urging those using the service to make it clear in advance if they have special requirements, such as not being able to use taxis with rear-facing seats.

24 complaints have been made about the type of vehicles being used by ComCab Liverpool - representing almost 3% of the journeys made by the company since they took over the service in March.

Mrs Beecroft also confirmed the taxi company will be avoiding a route that contains a number of speed bumps in the future after a video showing passengers receiving a bumpy ride was posted on social media last month.
