The Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister has confirmed plans to introduce a plastic bag levy on the Isle of Man are being considered.
Geoffrey Boot revealed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that carrier bag charges and a bag for life scheme were recently discussed at a UNESCO Stakeholder group, chaired by the Chief Minister.
DEFA's Ecosystem Policy Team are now working on the plans, which will then go out to consultation before they can be brought in.
Mr Boot pledged to provide a further update during an October sitting of the House.
