Surveys of Manx roads suggest £84m worth of work is needed on the Island's highway network.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer revealed a survey of just under half of the Island's roads showed around 13% should be considered for maintenance.
A second type of survey revealed 24.5 miles could need a full reconstruction, costing around £69m.
The figures were revealed in a written answer in this month's sitting of Tynwald.
The Department of Infrastructure is planning £64m worth of works over the next five years, including schemes on Douglas Promenade, Pulrose Bridge and Peel Harbour Bridge.
