Ramsey Town Commissioners have reached an agreement with the Department of Home Affairs to buy Ramsey Courthouse.
The Department has confirmed it's accepted a revised offer from the local authority following talks.
The Government decided to list the building on the open market earlier this year, with the Commissioners keen to keep it in public ownership.
The details of the offer haven't been released, but it will now be subject to due process and another announcement made in the near future.
The Commissioners described the agreement as an important step towards keeping the Courthouse for the benefit of the local community.
