Fire crews called out to tackle washing machine fire

Fire crews were called out in Douglas after a washing machine caught fire.

Two fire engines attended the scene on Belmont Hill yesterday morning.

Officers say the actions of the occupants, who were able to isolate the power to the washing machine, limited the damage.

Firefighters were able to put the flames out with a fire extinguisher before clearing the smoke from the property.
