Checks on expired gun licences will be up for discussion at this month's sitting of Tynwald.
The Isle of Man Constabulary recently renewed the licences of firearms owners on the Island.
Douglas North MHK David Ashford wants to know what checks are done to ensure those that haven't renewed their licences aren't keeping weapons anymore.
The police had to issue a reminder ahead of the deadline for renewal applications after receiving fewer forms than expected, although a weapons amnesty was held on the Island earlier this year.
Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey will provide the answer when the Manx parliament sits next week.
