Sartfell still closed off after unexploded ordnance discovery
Thu, 20 Apr 2017
An area in the west of the Island remains sealed off following the discovery of unexploded ordnance.
The items are believed to be World War II mortars, but have been judged to be low priority.
The British military is sending officials to the Island to ensure the controlled disposal of the ordnance within seven days.
The police have cordoned off the Sartfell area in the meantime, but insist the risk to the public is low.
