Douglas Borough Council is reminding retailers in the town centre that they won't be able to use A-boards from the end of June.
The local authority is banning the advertising boards, describing them as hazards for those with sight loss and users of mobility aids.
The Council insists A-Boards don't contribute to growth in retail activity or to the image of the town centre.
Pavement cafes won't be affected by the ban, but will need a licence which can be applied for on the Council's website.
