Castletown Commissioners want to build the Island's premier BMX and skate park, replacing facilities at Poulsom Park.
The local authority has applied for planning permission to replace the metal ramps at the site with a purpose-built concrete riding park.
The Commissioners say the current facilities aren't up to scratch, particularly for those who use skateboards, scooters and roller blades.
The riding park would be sufficiently lit so it could be used all year round, while the concrete ramps would be quieter than the existing metal installation, and would need little maintenance.
The board believes there needs to be more in the area for teenagers to do, and hopes this will be the answer.
