The Island's Fire and Rescue Service is praising two members of the public for preventing a potentially large fire in a plantation.
The pair were doing volunteer work when they spotted the fire at the Arrasey Plantation on Monday evening.
The duo managed to stop the 20m gorse fire spreading further while two fire engines made their way to the scene from Peel.
Crews also damped down the surrounding area to stop the fire re-igniting.
Fire officers are also reminding the public to take care when disposing of cigarettes and bottles in the countryside, as these can pose a fire risk.
