The Steam Packet Company is praising its engineers following the Ben-my-Chree's return to service after a technical issue.
Three sailings were cancelled and two were operated by the Manannan while the vessel had a cylinder head-securing stud replaced in one of its two main engines.
The ferry operator admits it was a complicated and labour-intensive repair, but paid tribute to the work of the engineers for getting the Ben back in service for yesterday evening's crossing.
The Steam Packet also commended the captain of the Ben, who brought the vessel back to Douglas from Heysham on one engine in windy conditions after engineers at the Lancashire port had been unable to fix the problem.
