DoI appeals for safe driving through roadworks

Motorists are being asked to obey signs while driving through roadworks.

The Department of Infrastructure says there have been a number of close calls between workers and vehicles recently.

Those driving through areas where the workforce is in the highway are reminded to pay attention to signs and drive with caution to avoid a serious incident.

As well as signs warning of workers in the road, some roadworks may also include reduced speed limits and traffic management systems.
