A Manx lawyer has been nominated for the vacant seat on the Legislative Council.
Garff MHK Daphne Caine put Jane Poole-Wilson's name forward within five minutes of the nomination period opening yesterday.
Mrs Poole-Wilson was born in the Isle of Man and studied at Oxford University before working as an employment lawyer and HR specialist.
She's also served as the Isle of Man Legal Aid Deputy Serving Officer, Trustee of St Christopher's Isle of Man and a Parent Governor at Marown School.
Middle MHK Bill Shimmins seconded the nomination, while Mrs Caine states Chief Minister Howard Quayle and her constituency colleague Martyn Perkins also support her nominee.
Nominations can be made by MHKs until May 3rd before the vote on May 18th.
