Work to regenerate one of the main shopping streets in Douglas Town Centre could get underway at the start of next year.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer confirmed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that plans for work on Castle Street followed by Duke Street are in the design stage.
His Department has set aside £8m for regeneration around the Island, and would need approval from Tynwald and the regeneration committee for the work to go ahead.
If the plans get the go-ahead, it's hoped development would start in Castle Street in January next year.
