The Department of Infrastructure says a review is underway into the cleaning of a school hit by a norovirus outbreak.
Ballacottier Primary School in Farmhill will be closed until after Easter while the premises undergo a deep clean.
The school shut its doors to pupils on Friday for the building to be decontaminated, but the Headteacher was unhappy with the state of cleanliness yesterday morning.
The DoI's Public Estates and Housing Division is speaking to its contractors to find out why the first deep clean wasn't good enough, and to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again in the future.
The Department is also apologising for the disruption caused.
From today, the former Fairfield Junior School site is being used to accommodate Ballacottier pupils until the decontamination is complete.
