The roadworks scheme currently underway in Foxdale now won't be completed until August.
The Department of Infrastructure had intended to complete the highway improvement works in time for TT in May, but the scheme has been the subject of several delays.
Work started late while the plans were changed, while the removal of trees, dangerous retaining walls and weather have all had an impact on the finish date.
A new road closure comes into place today so the works can continue up to Foxdale filling station.
The route will re-open with a temporary road surface during TT fortnight before closing again on June 12th.
It's hoped the road will meet traffic requirements for the next 40 years once completed.
