Those with outpatient appointments at Noble's Hospital and Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital will no longer be sent a reminder in the mail.
The Department of Health and Social Care is to use a text reminder service for all outpatient appointments after trialling the service last year.
The service is optional, with patients able to sign up by contacting the hospital, signing up in the reception areas or during their next clinic appointment.
The Department says evidence from the UK shows text reminders help reduce the number of missed appointments.
Patients will still receive an initial appointment letter by post.
