A company based in Belfast has announced it will be taking over the Island's Air Ambulance services from the start of April.
Woodgate Aviation confirmed it has secured a contract for three years to provide transport for patients needing to be taken off the Island.
In a post on the company's website, it describes the agreement as a multimillion pound deal and claims to have faced stiff competition for the contract.
The firm will have one aircraft based at Ronaldsway and another in Belfast, as well as a third as back-up.
The company had its busiest ever year last year, taking 431 patients out of Northern Ireland for treatment, and expects to handle around 350 patients transfers from the Island.
The service is currently provided by UK operator Capital Air Charter.
