Tue, 28 Mar 2017
Dog owners must keep their pets on leads in the Ayres National Nature Reserve from this weekend.
The restriction comes in from April 1st until the end of July to protect ground nesting birds in the area.
Those caught failing to comply with the byelaws face a fine of up to £2500.
Curlew, oystercatchers and Arctic terns are among a wide range of birds to breed in the nature reserve.
