DoI finishes Douglas prom works

Douglas promenade is fully open to traffic again after resurfacing works finished ahead of schedule.

The Department of Infrastructure completed the short-term resurfacing between the Sea Terminal and Broadway yesterday, two weeks earlier than initially expected.

Crews will still be in the area today though, replacing marking on the pedestrian crossing by the Villa Marina and adding road linings, while all signs, cones and barriers will be removed over the weekend.

The road has remained open to traffic in both directions throughout the scheme, but traffic management and parking suspensions have resulted in traffic jams during rush hour.
