Lord Street bus station plans to be revealed in next month

The futures of two disused sites in Douglas will become clearer soon according to the Infrastructure Minister.

Ray Harmer hopes his Department will be able to make an announcement about the future of the former Lord Street Bus Station in the next month.

The Government has been looking for a developer for the site, which is currently used as a car park, and a preferred bidder has been identified.

Meanwhile, options for the former Park Road School site are also being evaluated.

The Minister says there is a need for housing for older persons as well as first time buyers, and his Department is reviewing which is in greatest need.

Mr Harmer revealed the details in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
