The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is urging those who were booked to travel with CityWing to check the conditions of their credit and debit cards and travel insurance.
Passengers who had tickets with the company will have to wait for a refund after the virtual airline went into liquidation last week.
However, the OFT says some customers will be able to do a chargeback through their card provider.
The organisation advises some travel insurance companies may also provide cover in this case.
The Civil Aviation Authority is urging those who need to claim a refund from CityWing to contact the firm directly.
