The American man who claimed to be the King of the Isle of Man has announced that he has abdicated.
In a post on his website, David Drew Howe says he is abdicating the rights, responsibilities and privileges that his claim to the kingship of the Island affords him.
The Maryland businessman, who declared himself the King of Mann in 2007, believes the Manx people deserve to have a king more closely connected with the Island.
He also thanks the Island for its support over the years, and promises to return as "regular common folk" in the future.
The Howe family starred in a reality TV series about his claim to the Manx throne in 2015.
