The number of diabetics on the Island is increasing, despite a drop in the rate of obesity.
Government figures show the number of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes increased from just under 1300 in 2005 to over 1900 in 2015, with the number climbing every year in between.
The number has continued to rise since 2012, despite the number of patients considered obese falling from over 3000 to fewer than 2500 in 2015.
According to diabetes.co.uk, research suggests obesity increases a person's chance of developing type 2 diabetes by 80 times compared with someone with a BMI of 22 or less.
