Douglas lifeboat had to help the same fishing vessel twice in one day after an electrical issue led to engine failure.
The RNLI crew was called out shortly before 7.30 yesterday morning after the vessel got into trouble around 12 miles south east of Douglas.
The lifeboat had to tow the stricken boat back to Douglas, where the Coastguard helped the fishing vessel berth at Battery Pier.
The rescued vessel's crew fixed the problem before leaving Douglas for Holyhead later in the day, only to suffer an alternator problem which left them without power.
The vessel was stranded in almost the same spot as the morning breakdown, resulting in the lifeboat being called out for a second time to tow the boat back to Douglas.
